Thompson Twins
A little something about Thompson Twins
The Thompson Twins finally found a formula for success with the line-up of founding member Tom Bailey, girlfriend Alannah Currie and roadie/keyboardist Joe Leeway. The sound created by this trio had both the gentleness of the new romantics and the keyboards and rhythms sought by the clubs and MTV.
Unlike many bands of their day the Thompson Twins were competant song writers, and they had the cool hair and videos to back their music up and make it sell. They had a string of hits in the early/mid eighties - some quite enduring, such as Lay Your Hands on Me and Hold Me Now; and some quite cheesy, such as Lies and Doctor Doctor - but all of them fun to listen to.
Thompson Twins haven't completely given up the music business, as Bailey and Currie have been putting out new music under the name Babble from their home in New Zealand. Every now and then they pop up and make themselves visible at some radio station-hosted benefit show or on MTV, and band members have a new project going called Babble.

Hold me nowI have a picturePinned to my wallAn image of you and of me and we’re laughingWe’re loving it allBut look at our life nowWe're tattered and tornWe're fussing and fighting, delighting with tearsThat we cry until dawnCHORUS(Oh oh) Hold me now(Whoa)Warm my heartStay with meLet loving startLet loving startYou say I'm a dreamerWe're two of a kindBoth of us searching for some perfect worldWe know we'll never findSo perhaps I should leave hereYeah, go far awayBut you know that there's nowhere that i'd rather be Than with you here today(Oh oh, oh oh oh)Hold me now(Oh)Warm my heartStay with meLet loving start Let loving startOh hold me now(whoa)Warm my heartStay with meLet loving startLet loving startWhoa oh ohYou ask if I love youWhat can I sayYou know that I do and that this is just oneOf those games that we playSo I sing you a new songPlease don't cry any moreAnd I'd ask your forgiveness though I don't know just what i'm asking it for (Oh oh oh oh)Hold me now(Whoa)Warm my heartStay with meLet loving startLet loving start
