Scandal - featuring Patty Smyth

A little something about Scandal
Just to clear up any possible confusion, there is Patti Smith the folk/punk artist and Patty Smyth the pop/rock singer. Patti Smith with two i's has been making music since the early 1970s, used to live with Robert Mappplethorpe, collaborated with Bruce Springsteen for the hit "Because the Night," and married MC-5 guitarist Fred "Sonic" Smith (conveniently didn't have to change her name). Patty Smyth with two y's had a couple of hits with Scandal, married and divorced Richard Hell of Rolling Stone magazine fame, went solo, and married tennis star John McEnroe. Scandal was put together by guitarist/songwriter Zach Smith, and had an early success with the single "Goodbye to You." After an exhausting and expensive year of touring, they released their first full-length LP, The Warrior. The title track was to be their biggest hit, as the band folded in 1985 as Smyth left to start a solo career

Warrior

You run, run, runaway it's your
Heart that you betray
Feeding on your hungry eyes
I bet you're not so civilized
Isn't love primitive a wild gift
You wanna give
Break out of captivity
And follow me stereo jungle child
Love is the kill your heart's still wild

Shootin' at the walls of heartache
Bang, bang, I am the warrior
Yes I am the warrior
And heart to heart you win
If you survive the warrior, the warrior

You talk, talk, talk to me
Your eyes touch me physically
Stay with me, we'll take the night
As passion takes another bite

Oh, who's the hunter
Who's the game
I feel the beat call your name
I'll hold you close in victory
I don't wanna tame your animal style
You won't be caged
From the call of the wild...
